Rough Week

I hope this week finds everyone happy and helthy. I am thankful to be healthy, but happy well.............The week started out on a bad foot and just hasn't got any better. I have had one of the most hectic schedules ever between school, work, and my family commitments I want to pull out my hair and am wondering if I will ever get a good nights sleep again. 12 credit hours at school 40 hours a week at work 2 kids and a husband who is having back surgery on Friday, what was I thinking? Anyone have tips for the mom juggling it all? I used to be so organized this is my third year going to school full time  while working full time, but it seems like it is all catching up with me. Well lunch is over back to work :(

Yoga

So last night I went to my first yoga class. I loved it, especially the ladies in the class. The only thing I didn't understand is how one can really lay on the floor relax and then leave all their problems and stresses there on the floor, Really? It was a great hour of stretching for my body and I do feel better after I exercise but leaving all the stresses of my life because the instructor said so just wasn't working for me. Some how the bills piling up and the kids that always need something and the never ending homework I have just wouldn't stay on that darn floor. Well maybe next class these pesky stresses will listen to that lady and stay there. The ladies I took the class with were great we weren't really supposed to be laughing the whole class Yoga apparently is a quiet class, but no one listened and jokes were told and it was just so refreshing and fun. Can't wait until Friday to do it again! Anyone else ever try Yoga? Does it relax you? Can you leave your problems behind on the floor?

2nd Hand

Thrift stores are popping up all over near me. We also have a thriving group of 2nd hand traders on facebook in my area. So I was wondering what everyone else thinks of them. I personally have been shopping second hand stores for years. I love to shop and don't have a shoppers bank account, so off to the thrift store I go. I especially like to purchase outfits for events from there. It never fails if I get invited to a wedding some one else is going from the last wedding I attended so I can't wear the same dress again. Off to the consignment store I go in hopes that someone else bought a dress wore it once and decided it wasn't for them. I also get a lot of the name brand clothes my daughter likes from them because it fits today but tomorrow is never a sure thing so i don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it. The one thing I don't like is consignment shops that have the most stuck up rudest people working there. I stopped going to one because I was in shopping one day and after dirty looks when I walked in, I then overheard a conversation about the junk someone tried to consign. These girls were just being plain mean and nasty describing this person's stuff. I decided that I would never return as I do love to shop the thrift and consignment stores as well as consign and I never wanted to feel like someone was talking like that about me after I left. Lucky for me another store popped up nearby and they couldn't be nicer. So anyway do you shop second hand? Do you consign at a consignment stores have you ebayed your second hand stuff?

SKEPTICAL

So I try to be a glass half full kind a gal. However, when it comes to people being honest and good I just can't do it. I always think everyone has an angle if I don't know them. Politicians always tell you what you want to hear, coworkers tell the boss what they want to hear, kids tell their parents what they want to hear, etc..and what they want to hear and the actual truth usually are not the same thing. So how do trust that anyone is sincere. I just have such a hard time with this. I try to hold myself to a standard of high integrity, but I feel like I may be in a group of only a few. So my new years resolution is to try to be a little more trusting of others and their integrity and motives.

Another Year

Well, I haven't been very productive with my blogging endeavor.  So my New Years Resolution will be to blog more often in 2012. I usually don't make resolutions, but this year I am and I will really try to keep it. I am entering my final semester of school and hoping it wont be so time consuming, we will see. I am generally a shy person so I am hoping this will help me come out of my shell in the new year and give me a way to express myself. So does anyone else have a New years Resolution? Do you make them every year? Do you stick with them every year?

On-Line learning Challenges

Well today 5 minutes after finishing my morning coffee I logged on to my school's web site to get some information about an assignment that is due tonight. The assignment was locked double checked calender and due date I was correct due tonight did he change the time it was due without telling me? I am now in sheer panic although this assignment is worth very little of my overall grade I am an A student and have not missed an assignment yet. So I E-mail my teacher right away I mean I am sure he sits by the computer enjoying his morning coffee waiting for his students to e-mail him right? Wrong refresh my screen every 5 minutes until I must leave for work no answer. Get to work pull up my class web site still no answer. I am in sheer panic at the thought of a big fat 0 now and where is my professor. (probably teaching a live in person class but come on I need him) Well a little after lunch finally he responds to many panic stricken students who have the same issue and it is fixed. Whew I thought I was going to have to chain myself to his office door. The hardest thing with my online classes is the not knowing the professor in person and their schedule and personality ect.

The only good thing was that I was able to get in touch with my group finally for this class I have a group paper worth a good portion of my grade coming up and it appeared no one else was concerned about it besides me. Then finally today two of the five other members get in touch. Problem now they feel since the teacher has commented on a couple of their posts in our class discussions that they are VIP's and I should be honored to work with them. So will see how this goes. In the past I have dreaded working in groups or "teams" but they have always turned out to be great experiences in the end. So we will see if it goes the same way with students I have never met in person.

Well as long as no one throws a wammy at me. I think I will make it through this week and in to my spring break cushion so I can get caught up (I hope). Oh and hopefully I can get out of work early today and sneak over to the DMV undetected to renew my 2 day expired license plates before officer friendly decides to let me know they expired.
